ॐ नमः शिवाय नमः शिवायOm Namah Shivaya. I bow to Shiva

शिवोऽहम् शिवोऽहम् शिवस्वरूपोऽहम्I am Shiva. I am the very form of the unbounded Consciousness.

नित्योऽहम् शुद्धोऽहम् बुद्धोऽहम् मुक्तोऽहम्I am eternal. I am pure. I am intelligent. I am free.

अद्वैतमानन्दरूपम् अरूपम्The bliss of non-duality, that which is in all forms and yet formless.

ब्रह्मोऽहम् ब्रह्मोऽहम् ब्रह्मस्वरूपोऽहम्I am Brahman. I am the very form of Brahman.

चिदोऽहम् चिदोऽहम् सच्चिदानन्दोऽहम्I am Consciousness. I am the bliss of Consciousness, which is the one Truth.

रत्नैः कल्पितमासनं हिमजलैः स्नानं च दिव्याम्बरंनानारत्नविभूषितं मृगमदामोदाङ्कितं चन्दनम् ।जातीचम्पकबिल्वपत्ररचितं पुष्पं च धूपं तथादीपं देव दयानिधे पशुपते हृत्कल्पितं गृह्यताम् ॥१॥A throne of jewels, cool water for your bath, divine garments set with gems, sandal paste fragrant with musk, jasmine, champaka and bilva leaves, incense and a lamp: O Pashupati, ocean of mercy, accept what I have imagined in my heart.

सौवर्णे नवरत्नखण्डरचिते पात्रे घृतं पायसंभक्ष्यं पञ्चविधं पयोदधियुतं रम्भाफलं पानकम् ।शाकानामयुतं जलं रुचिकरं कर्पूरखण्डोज्ज्वलंताम्बूलं मनसा मया विरचितं भक्त्या प्रभो स्वीकुरु ॥२॥In a golden bowl set with the nine gems: ghee and payasam, five kinds of food, milk, curd and banana, panakam, sweet scented water, a bright camphor flame and tambulam. All this I have made in my mind with devotion. O Lord, accept it.

छत्रं चामरयोर्युगं व्यजनकं चादर्शकं निर्मलंवीणाभेरिमृदङ्गकाहलकला गीतं च नृत्यं तथा ।साष्टाङ्गं प्रणतिः स्तुतिर्बहुविधा ह्येतत्समस्तं मयासङ्कल्पेन समर्पितं तव विभो पूजां गृहाण प्रभो ॥३॥An umbrella, a pair of chamaras, a fan and a spotless mirror; the music of veena, bheri, mridanga and drums, with song and dance; full prostration and many hymns of praise. All this I offer you by my resolve. O Lord, accept my worship.

आत्मा त्वं गिरिजा मतिः सहचराः प्राणाः शरीरं गृहंपूजा ते विषयोपभोगरचना निद्रा समाधिस्थितिः ।सञ्चारः पदयोः प्रदक्षिणविधिः स्तोत्राणि सर्वा गिरोयद्यत्कर्म करोमि तत्तदखिलं शम्भो तवाराधनम् ॥४॥You are my Self; Girija is my intellect; my life-breaths are your attendants; my body is your temple. Every enjoyment of the senses is your worship, and my sleep is samadhi. Every step is a pradakshina, every word a hymn. Whatever I do, O Shambhu, is your worship.

करचरणकृतं वाक्कायजं कर्मजं वाश्रवणनयनजं वा मानसं वापराधम् ।विहितमविहितं वा सर्वमेतत्क्षमस्वजय जय करुणाब्धे श्रीमहादेव शम्भो ॥५॥Whatever wrong I have done with hands or feet, by speech or body or action, through ears, eyes or mind, knowingly or unknowingly: forgive it all. Victory, victory to you, ocean of compassion, great God, Shambhu.

ब्रह्ममुरारि सुरार्चित लिङ्गंThe Lingam worshipped by Brahma, Vishnu and the gods,

निर्मलभासित शोभित लिङ्गम्shining, spotless and radiant,

जन्मज दुःख विनाशक लिङ्गंwhich ends the sorrow born of birth:

तत् प्रणमामि सदाशिव लिङ्गम्To that eternal Shiva Lingam, I bow.

देवमुनि प्रवरार्चित लिङ्गंThe Lingam worshipped by gods and the greatest sages,

कामदहं करुणाकर लिङ्गम्which burned desire, a source of compassion,

रावण दर्प विनाशन लिङ्गंwhich humbled the pride of Ravana:

तत् प्रणमामि सदाशिव लिङ्गम्To that eternal Shiva Lingam, I bow.

सर्व सुगन्धि सुलेपित लिङ्गंThe Lingam anointed with every fragrance,

बुद्धि विवर्धन कारण लिङ्गम्the cause of growing wisdom,

सिद्ध सुरासुर वन्दित लिङ्गंrevered by Siddhas, gods and asuras alike:

तत् प्रणमामि सदाशिव लिङ्गम्To that eternal Shiva Lingam, I bow.

कनक महामणि भूषित लिङ्गंThe Lingam adorned with gold and great jewels,

फणिपति वेष्टित शोभित लिङ्गम्beautiful, encircled by the king of serpents,

दक्ष सुयज्ञ विनाशन लिङ्गंwhich ended the sacrifice of Daksha:

तत् प्रणमामि सदाशिव लिङ्गम्To that eternal Shiva Lingam, I bow.

कुङ्कुम चन्दन लेपित लिङ्गंThe Lingam smeared with kumkum and sandal paste,

पङ्कज हार सुशोभित लिङ्गम्lovely with garlands of lotus,

सञ्चित पाप विनाशन लिङ्गंwhich dissolves the sins gathered over lifetimes:

तत् प्रणमामि सदाशिव लिङ्गम्To that eternal Shiva Lingam, I bow.

देवगणार्चित सेवित लिङ्गंThe Lingam worshipped and served by hosts of gods,

भावैर्भक्तिभिरेव च लिङ्गम्with feeling and with devotion,

दिनकर कोटि प्रभाकर लिङ्गंshining with the light of ten million suns:

तत् प्रणमामि सदाशिव लिङ्गम्To that eternal Shiva Lingam, I bow.

अष्टदलोपरिवेष्टित लिङ्गंThe Lingam seated upon the eight-petalled lotus,

सर्वसमुद्भव कारण लिङ्गम्the cause from which all creation arises,

अष्टदरिद्र विनाशन लिङ्गंwhich removes the eight kinds of poverty:

तत् प्रणमामि सदाशिव लिङ्गम्To that eternal Shiva Lingam, I bow.

सुरगुरु सुरवर पूजित लिङ्गंThe Lingam worshipped by the teacher of the gods and the best of gods,

सुरवन पुष्प सदार्चित लिङ्गम्ever worshipped with flowers from the celestial gardens,

परात्परं परमात्मक लिङ्गंbeyond the highest, the Supreme Self itself:

तत् प्रणमामि सदाशिव लिङ्गम्To that eternal Shiva Lingam, I bow.

लिङ्गाष्टकमिदं पुण्यं यः पठेत् शिवसन्निधौWhoever recites this sacred Lingashtakam in Shiva's presence

शिवलोकमवाप्नोति शिवेन सह मोदतेreaches Shiva's abode and rejoices with Shiva.
