Durga Saptashati · Devi Stuti
The Devi Within
Twenty-three verses that find the Divine Mother in every part of life, explained one by one by Siddha Guru Pushkara Purvajna.
Yā devī sarvabhūteṣu …
Namastasyai namastasyai namastasyai namo namaḥ
To the Devi who dwells in all beings as … salutations to Her, salutations to Her, salutations to Her, again and again.
In the fifth chapter of the Durga Saptashati, the gods praise the Mother who lives in every being. Verse after verse names where She is found: as consciousness and intelligence, as sleep and hunger, as memory, peace, kindness, even as confusion. Each verse ends with the same bow: namastasyai, namastasyai, namastasyai, namo namaḥ.
Guruji takes these verses as sutras for sadhana. Each one points to something ordinary, the way you sleep, what you hunger for, what you remember, and shows how the Devi is already present there, and how a seeker can meet Her in it.
Here are all 23 sutras in 22 chapters. Each has the verse in Kannada and in transliteration, its meaning, and Guruji’s commentary in English, with his original Kannada notes alongside.
