To this Devi Shakti, present in every class of creature in the world in the form of Lakshmi, of prosperity and splendour, salutations, salutations, salutations.

The form of Lakshmi means the form of prosperity, the form of wealth.

Wealth and spiritual meditation practice should both have an important place in everyone’s life.

Worshipping the Devi does not mean we are wretched or poor. Worshipping the Devi is a sign of prosperity, a form of Lakshmi.

When we link Lakshmi with money, with wealth and prosperity, we need to understand that wealth. It is not the circulation of coins and notes, nor looking at possessions.

Wealth and prosperity are a sign of awareness in life: abundant consciousness.

A person can follow one of two ways. One is abundant consciousness; the other is poverty consciousness.

Abundant consciousness: the person runs their life with abundance and security. They are open-minded. Not narrow, they keep sharing their abundance and live their life well.

Poverty consciousness: a life without abundance. Many people, when they want wealth and prosperity and do not get what they need, live with a narrow mind, wretched, like the poor. Their life becomes a hell. The vessel of wealth stays at a distance from them.

Lakshmi means abundant consciousness, a life of abundance. Such people find themselves in good, beloved circumstances.

In Indian philosophy, Lakshmi’s vehicle is said to be the owl (uluka). But in the popular mind the owl is a symbol of foolishness: he’s a fool, he’s an owl. Yet the owl is a very intelligent bird.

Can anyone really make a fool, an owl, of someone? Impossible!

The owl is a very intelligent bird, a symbol of intelligence. It has a special trait: its memory is very strong, its power of recall intense. Whatever it sees, it remembers. It flies in the darkness of night. When you walk toward abundant consciousness, toward a life of abundance, your memory too becomes strong and sharp.

Others, and some birds and animals, cannot see, fly or move in the dark. When a human being has this special trait, then even when the road ahead is unclear and they feel they are in darkness, they see a way, find a road, search one out. Then they walk toward abundance.

But some people, even when they know the whole road perfectly, forget it and wonder: should I go this way or that way? They become confused and fail.

Today there is technology to show us the way when we go out and come back (smartphones, watches).

But the owl has a built-in navigation (default navigation). The owl’s skill is that it returns by the same road it went. It has that power.

In the same way, when a person has the skill of the inner mind, even if they are full of ignorance they build their own road. But people without that skill, when they lose their way, flounder, scream, thrash about and cry.

When we look at the meaning of this, what does it matter which road you are on? What does it matter what the road is like? The point is to find the good road within it. Even if the road is wrong in the darkness, if you have the ability to understand through inner vision, and you have trust, you will gain a life of abundance as part of a good life, with patience and restraint.

The Devi shines in all creatures in the form of Lakshmi. Not every bird and animal has abundant consciousness, but the human being must always seek abundant consciousness, and keep seeking it.

Example: how should we seek abundant consciousness? We must use foresight, inner vision and naturalness, moving along with the flow.

We must come to understand everything. Then everything becomes very simple. When we want to grow spiritually in life and become radiant, we need both wealth and spiritual meditation practice. In both, we must take in all the forms (Lakshmi, Saraswati, Shakti, peace, courage), leaving none out, and walk a good journey carefully, with focus, on a good path, with good knowledge, good health and good form. There the Devi’s power descends, surrounds us and shows the way toward abundance (abundant consciousness).
